SILOS & HOPPERS
Preparing a Steel Silo and Hopper Fabrication Enquiry
Prepare stored-material data, capacity, drawings, supports, interfaces and supply scope before requesting a silo or hopper fabrication offer.
Start with the Material and Project Requirements
Identify the stored material, required capacity, filling and discharge arrangement and technical information available from the system designer. Provide specified density and service conditions along with approved drawings and calculations, or define the design scope needed. A material name or capacity in tonnes alone is insufficient to describe the package.
Define the Fabrication Boundaries
List the silo or hopper body, legs, supporting structure, platforms, ladders and openings. Identify project interfaces with conveyors, feeders, valves or dust systems and who supplies each system. Handling and control equipment are not automatically included in the steel-body fabrication package.
Coordinate Site and Delivery Early
Provide the project location, dimensional constraints and transport, assembly and lifting requirements. Define responsibility for foundations, anchor bolts, fixings and site work. Delivery as components, modules or a site-assembled package is reviewed against project requirements and access.
What Makes Offers Comparable?
Compare drawings, revisions, quantities, materials, finish, inspection and documentation alongside price. Record exclusions and incomplete information instead of assuming they are covered. Send the current package and target date so the factory can identify gaps and define an offer that can be reviewed.
